It is marketing thru fear, or lack of knowledge to put it kindly.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08837802223071004652noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3697144516795736807.post-14874311449037495132015-03-09T13:12:45.183-05:002015-03-09T13:12:45.183-05:00I am sorry if other people see this as scare adver...I am sorry if other people see this as scare advertisement or as if it is condemning conventional farming. The fact of the matter is that there is a large consumer base that is looking to purchase meat that has never been feed antibiotics. The practice of feeding a low dose of antibiotics to animals as a preventative is what a large consumer’s base are against. Even if they have been pulled off of it for the recommended amount of time.

I sell at farmers markets, I get asked these questions and several more. Some that I think are off the wall, but they are a great concern to my consumer. I use some of these same words. This not misleading to the consumer, because this is what several are looking for. As for the humanly raised that is a loaded question. Your idea of humanly and their idea of humanly can be two differently things. I can guarantee that if they came to my farm when we are weaning calves and they hear all the balling from the mom’s and the calves some of my customers may not think that was humane. When we have to castrate the bulls, there are some people that would think that would be inhumane.

To your point none of us that are using this type of advertising are trying use scare tactics or run other farmers down for using conventional farming methods, we are trying to reach the consumer that is looking to purchase this type of produce.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11800513273757948708noreply@blogger.com
