I also have a busy farmer husband who is more concerned about getting combines prepped for harvest than lining up little bikes and baseballs run a-muck. Today, marked the first day of the season where the pink stuff falls from the sky, covering my patio, garage, every spider web and nook and cranny it can seep into. I feel your pain.
